Anticipation

So, I'm trying something new and hope I will have the opportunity to follow through once I get there. If not, I will try to journal so as to record all the excitement and memories. I'm not much of a creative writing or artistic person and am not much for sharing my feelings, but I don't want to forget this trip.

There will be a lot of firsts for me-1st time on a mission trip, 1st time out of the country, 1st time flying for more than 4 hrs at a time. I've learned a lot in the process of getting ready for this. I've had to get a new passport, apply for a visa to go to Nigeria, track down all my immunization records (and find out that all the colleges and doctors offices purge records after 7 yrs-ugh!), get multiple immunizations, go to the health department to learn how to function in Africa and learn about all the things that can go wrong (!!), figure out how to pack for 16 days, navigate all the personalities of the 18 people going on the trip, find out about power conversion and cell phone service, learn how to dress in Nigeria, etc, etc....... I still have so much to do in the next 8 days!!!!!!

I am truly ready to go mentally though. I can't wait for this experience and am so blessed to have it. I also can't wait to tell everyone everything we do and see! I really hope I have the opportunity to use this!
